From March 7-11, this week-long series of fundraising events and suit drives appeals to Houstonians to help women tackling the job market so that they can progress on their path to self-sufficiency.
"This year we are all feeling the uncertainty and anxiety of tough economic times, and now more than ever our clients need help finding a job," said Nancy Levicki, president and co-founder of Dress for Success Houston. "Imagine the life of a woman who spent the majority of her life on public assistance鈥?who recently landed her first Mulberry Men Wallets job through hard work and determination鈥?who finally earns just enough money each month for rent and food for her children 鈥?and then loses that precious job and its promise of self-sufficiency. These are the women who come through the doors of Dress for Success Houston for help. Week brings in more than 70% of the inventory in Dress for Success Houston. Week, which helped the more than 4,600 Houston area women that came through the doors of the agency. Week is just one of the Mulberry Alexa Bags many ways that Houston can be involved with volunteer efforts benefiting Dress for Success. Individual donations are always appreciated and should include gently worn business suits, shoes and handbags. The suits should be Mulberry Bayswater Bags clean and on hangers. There is a special need for sizes 14 and up and shoe sizes 9 and larger, but all suit and shoe sizes are welcomed. In fact, a $75 donation will cover the cost of one suit and accessories.
